Our Summer Tournament draw is now published
All Members
The draw for the Tennis Club Tournament is now on the court bookings website under the heading ‘Competitions’ and hopefully it will be on the Club Notice Board by the end of the week.
The Men’s Singles have 28 entries, so the deadline for the first round in this event is Sunday 10th June. Deadlines for all other events are later – please check when your match is due to be played by.
Although it may seem that you have ages to play your match, it is best to organise it as soon as possible, because the courts get fully booked very quickly once the tournament gets under way, particularly at peak times. Also, if you know that you are going away for any period of time it is only polite to let your opponents know (even if it is not your responsibility to arrange the match (there have been lots of problems in the past due to players being on holiday and not informing their opponents).
The highlighted player/s is/are responsible for arranging the match and if it is not played by the deadline then the non-highlighted player/s will automatically go through to the next round unless you contact Jenny to let her know. (We prefer all matches to be played if possible – it is very rare for a player/s to be scratched).
Special Note 1:
I would like to thank the all the ladies that I recently send ‘begging’ emails to, asking for more entries – we had a tremendous response resulting in being able to run all our events. What a fantastic club! Thank you ladies 😊
Special Note 2:
Unfortunately, there are a few names that the website does not recognise this year, so if it states online that your partner, or one of your opponents is ‘BYE’ then please check on the Club Notice Board to find out who the mystery player is – we are trying to find out what the problem is.
Special Note 3:
Men’s Singles – please make a note of the deadlines for this event as some of them differ from all other events.
We wish you all the very best of luck and look forward to seeing you at the Finals Weekend.
